One is The Elegant Universe by Brian Greene. The first few chapters are on Relativity, and have the best explanation I've ever seen. The theory of relativity holds a certain fascination for many people. More particularly, it visualizes the Lorentz transformation. As an example of how you can visualize reactions using the idea of fields, suppose we consider the process in which a muon decays into an electron, an electron antineutrino, and a muon neutrino. Over the years, I've noticed that squirrels living on the campuses of universities and colleges are somewhat "troubled". At the same time it is often regarded as very abstract and difficult to understand. Photograph by Dayna Mason (daynoir on Flickr) Yesterday, Redditor jokes_on_you posted a fascinating magnetic field visualization using compasses (see above). I have two favorite books to learn Relativity. Space Time Travel - Relativity Visualized. This video demonstrates the effects of Einstein's special relativity on objects that move at high velocities. Special relativity makes things "being" Lorentz-contracted, processes "are" affected by dilatation, relativity of simultaneity, and there are other effects: see the visualization in Relativistic phobia.
